Fall Chili Cook-Off to Fund Black Chamber Memberships for Marginalized Entrepreneurs:
South Bend, IN — November 3, 2025 — A B Life and Enterprise LLC is reintroducing the Black Chamber of Commerce, Berean Transformation Center, Northern Indiana Minority Business Association (NIMBA), IMPower, and Indiana Black Expo to the South Bend community while proudly announcing its Fall and Winter Chili Cook-Off Fundraiser.
The event will take place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 5:30 PM at the Berean Transformation Center, 623 S. St. Joseph St., South Bend, IN 46601. The purpose of the fundraiser is to raise essential funds to help cover membership fees for marginalized business owners to join the Black Chamber of Commerce and other partner organizations.
Membership in these organizations provides entrepreneurs access to mentorship, capital resources, networking, advocacy, and technical assistance—key components for overcoming the historic and systemic barriers that often limit underrepresented business growth and success.
Marginalized entrepreneurs, including Black business owners, continue to face financial, structural, and psychological challenges resulting from systemic inequities. The Black Chamber of Commerce serves as a unifying and catalytic force for economic equity, helping members gain fair access to funding, contracting, and business development opportunities. Through A B Life and Enterprise, participants also receive coaching and leadership development support to help them operate authentically and sustainably.
The Chili Cook-Off invites local chefs, amateur cooks, and food enthusiasts from across Northern Indiana to showcase their best chili recipes in a spirited community competition. Guests will enjoy a range of chili varieties, live entertainment, networking opportunities, and prizes for the top entries. (Please note: no pork ingredients are permitted in chili submissions.)
“This event is about more than chili — it’s about fostering a beloved experience for marginalized entrepreneurs by providing the support and resources necessary to create thriving businesses and sustainable communities,” said Ruby Brower, founder of A B Life and Enterprise.
Tickets will be announced soon. All proceeds benefit the Black Chamber of Commerce, Berean Transformation CenterNorthern Indiana Minority Business Association (NIMBA), IMPower, and Indiana Black Expo, supporting their shared mission to expand access and opportunity for business owners traditionally excluded from mainstream networks.
Join us for an evening of great food, fellowship, and forward progress in economic empowerment.
