Childbirth Class (01/08, 01/15, 01/22, 01/29, 02/05, 02/12)
Overview
PLEASE NOTE: All classes are in person.
All classes are free of charge as of 2026!
Feel ready and empowered going into your birthing time! Our birth class is taught by a Lamaze certified nurse/breastfeeding specialist and covers everything from how to handle unmedicated births, to planned c-sections! We cover information on healthy pregnancy, how to recognize labor, medical procedures like inductions, epidurals, C-sections, and VBACs. The instructor also commits an entire class to unmedicated comfort techniques such as positioning, counter pressure, massage, and essential oils. We also go over what to expect postpartum and how to heal. We are inclusive of all family structures and welcome any birthing people and their partner(s) of choice to join in the fun!
Due to regulations we cannot allow anyone under the age of 18 into the class room (unless they are expecting).
Our classes are held on the ground floor in a room called the Moakley Conference Center. Please note at this time our Moakley entrance is closed. You must park in the main parking lot and come through the main entrance. Take the stairs down one floor or visitor elevators to G. Follow hospital signs for the Moakley Conference Center. Continue down the red tile hall (you will pass the kitchen on your right.) Then turn right at the end of the hall into the “Conference and Cancer Center.” If you become lost, ask a staff member or the front desk.
Please wear comfortable clothing you can move around in (Sweatpants, leggings, yoga pants, workout gear etc.)
In case of poor weather conditions, please call 508-427-3000 and the switchboard operator will inform you of any cancellations.
If possible please bring a partner, doula or support person –ideally someone who will be present during your labor.
