About the Trainer
Katie is a qualified Nurse, Health Visitor and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with over a decade of Nursing experience. Most of her clinical experience has been in a community health setting and she is passionate about all aspects of public and family health. Katie has experience of managing acute and chronic health conditions in primary care and working as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in the wider community helping support the most vulnerable and frail by reducing hospital admissions and supporting facilitated discharge from hospital.
Katie moved into higher education at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2022, where she is now a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing. She teaches across the nursing programmes, specialising in public health, leadership, management, and healthcare innovation. Katie has a Postgraduate certificate in teaching in higher education, is an independent prescriber, and has been awarded the title of Queens Nurse for her work within the wider community.
