How long are we running?

There will be a 3 mile run (Strava map: https://www.strava.com/routes/3266775012496886624) and 1 mile walk (Strava map: https://www.strava.com/routes/3266778570659546204)!

Are all paces welcome?

YES! And we will be supporting it to the best of our ability! The goal with a shakeout run is to take it easy and celebrate our bodies. So expect paces to range anywhere from a 9-15+ minute miles (or roughly 5-10 min/km)!! But we will have leads for the front, middle, and back of the pack!

Are we getting any goodies?!

HECK YEAH!!! Sprints will be giving EVERYONE a running hat that attends!! We will also be giving away a few exclusive items to some lucky folks after the run so make sure you stay because you could win some more goodies! PiniPico will also be offering discounted coffee + treats!

Do I have to be running the Chicago Marathon to come?

No! If you are local to Chicago, running the Abbott 5k, supporting a friend or family member running, COME ON OUT!! All we ask is that you sign-up here so we can be prepared!

Where can I park/Is there a train/metra station close by?

Accepted Answer

We recommend walking, if you are staying close by, taking an Uber or taxi, taking the brown line to Sedgwick Station (11 minute walk away) OR red line to Clark/Division Station (11 minute walk away). There are parking garages in the area if you are driving but can be limited due to the weekend!
