About this event

CHEF Summer Camp (ages 9-12) is a free dynamic, hands-on experience where kids explore the exciting world of food—from garden to kitchen! Hosted at the New Braunfels Food Bank, this three-day camp blends our CHEF Bites and Sow Healthy Garden-to-Table programs to empower children with the knowledge and skills to grow, cook, and enjoy nutritious meals.

Campers will learn:

  • Where food comes from and how it grows
  • How to prepare fun, healthy recipes using fruits and vegetables
  • Basic kitchen safety and culinary skills they can use at home
  • The importance of hydration and physical activity

Through interactive cooking demos, garden activities, and taste-testing new foods, children gain confidence in the kitchen and develop lifelong healthy habits. Whether they’re chopping veggies with the “claw” technique, trying a “Respect Bite,” or creating refreshing infused waters, campers will leave inspired to share what they’ve learned with their families.

This camp is a joyful celebration of real food, healthy living, and the power of kids in the kitchen!

space is limited - registration required. First-come, first-serve basis.
