Description

The Charlotte Asian Film Festival (CAFF) is a joint effort of the local Asian American community and others leaders who see value in this novel addition to Charlotte’s cultural landscape. The Festival will be held on May 26-27, 2017 at UNC Charlotte Center City in Uptown as part of Asian Heritage Month celebration. The screenings will include full-length feature films, shorts and documentaries that provide a window on various facets of Asian society, culture and history both in the native lands and in the diaspora. This will be a showcase of the best artwork in movie making from around the globe where the discerning audience will experience the high-quality features right here in Charlotte.

Event is free. Please register and select one day or both days. Donations will be greatly appreciated.

Opening Night -Friday, May 26th from 6:00-8:30 pm. Film: Holy, (un)holy River (India/Documentary); Amarta (Indonesia/short)

Saturday, May 27th from 11:00-8:00 Films: Remarkable Journey (USA Documentary), White Sun (Nepalese), Right Now, Wrong Then (Korean), Soul On a String (Chinese/Tibetan), Sameer (Indian/Hindi), Summer Park (Chinese/Short) andTeheran Meantime (Iranian/Short).
