Join Charlie Porter to celebrate the publication of his latest book, Nova Scotia House, in conversation with poet Richard Scott at Lala Books.

Charlie Porter is a writer, critic and curator and author of What Artists Wear and Bring No Clothes: Bloomsbury and the Philosophy of Fashion. His debut novel, Nova Scotia House, is a deeply felt story about grief, sex, love, and refusing to let go of long-held dreams. He’ll discuss Nova Scotia House, including the influence of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt. Charlie recently initiated the deeply moving display of the Quilt at the Tate Modern in June, which was seen by 70,000 people in four days.

Charlie will be joined by one of the UK’s most prominent poets, Richard Scott. Richard will read from his recent collection That Broke Into Shining Crystals, and join Charlie in reflecting on queer ancestry, artistic collaboration, and the role of memory in their work.

Tickets include a complimentary drink on arrival.
