Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is partnering with the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, the Charleston Water System, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, and the South Carolina Rural Water Association to co-sponsor the Earthquake Resilience Workshop for Water and Wastewater Utilities, an event designed for the water sector in South Carolina.

This half-day workshop will provide guidance and information for drinking water and wastewater utilities to enhance their ability to withstand a seismic event, minimize damage, and rapidly recover from disruptions to service.

The workshop will include:

  • Demonstrations of EPA’s new Earthquake Resilience products

  • Explanations of the specific earthquake threats in your area

  • Opportunities to learn from utilities who have taken mitigating actions

  • Discussions with other local utilities

CEU credit hours may be available to water and wastewater operators for participation.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation via email.
