The producers of 'Bill W.: Conscious Contact' are generously making this screening available with Jay Sinnett, the writer and producer, coming from the US to introduce this special film with a Q&A in support of Steps2Recovery, our 12-week residential treatment programme which uses a 12 step based model to support alcoholics and addicts in the criminal justice system to gain abstinence and start new lives, thus breaking the cycle of addiction, offending and incarceration.

More than a biography, this film is a spiritual excavation. Bill W.: Conscious Contact follow the ever-evolving inner life of Bill Wilson, co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, as he deepens his search for conscious contact with a Power.

Through never-before-seen recordings, personal letters, rare photographs, and a revelatory interview with the man who introduced Bill to Transcendental Meditation in 1969, the film offers an intimate portrait of a man still seeking — still practicing — decades after co-founding a movement that would change millions of lives and still does today.

This is not just a story about recovery. It’s a story about what comes after.
The spiritual life, lived.
