This two week course will examine the function of world building in the horror genre; in the first session, we will assess how narrative rules must be built into the world and action as well as how the setting can be effectively created to amplify aspects of genre or your chosen themes. The second session will address how protagonists, antagonists and all those in between (both human/supernatural/etc) can be created with depth, narrative function and emotional affect.
