Check In & Material Pickup


Registered artists can check in, pick up materials, and find their designated space. If not all spots are filled, artists may enter the contest day-of on a first-come first-serve basis.

Health Education Tables & Presentations


Programs out of the Onondaga County Health Department will have tables with information and materials and will have short presentations and activities throughout the event.

Voting


Voting will open at 3:00pm and conclude at 4:00pm. All community members are invited to vote for their favorite art pieces in each category. Voting instructions will be given at the event.

4:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Chalk Art Contest Awards Ceremony


Winners of the Chalk Art Contest in each category will be announced and presented with their prize materials.

The Reality Check youth program out of Advancing Tobacco Free Communities aims to engage their community and spread important messaging about tobacco. In conjunction with the Syracuse Art Trail, the youth will be hosting a Chalk Art Contest to raise awareness for their program and educate the public on tobacco-related issues. They are also joining up with other programs out of the Onondaga County Health Department to provide information, materials, and education to their local community on a wide variety of health topics.

Where can I park?

The closest parking lot is 544 South Townsend Street. Street parking is available in various locations around the plaza.

Do I need to register if I am just attending and not participating?

No! This is a free event for all and registrations are only needed for participating artists due to a limited amount of space and materials. Anyone is welcome to attend the event and participate in voting.

Do I need to be present for the awards to receive my prize?

No - when registering, you will provide contact information. If you win a prize and are not present for the ceremony, you will be contacted through the given information on how to collect your prize.

Is there a rain date?

Yes, Sunday, July 27th is reserved as a rain date. All registrants will be notified by the night prior if the rain date will be used. It will also be posted on the Tobacco-Free CNY and T-Free Zone Facebook pages.
