CHADD-Ohio Central Ohio Support Group for Individuals with ADHD
Join us at COhatch Upper Arlington for our in-person support group for individuals with ADHD. This is a safe space to share experiences, learn coping strategies, and connect with others who understand what you're going through. Whether you've been recently diagnosed or have been managing ADHD for years, this group is here to offer support and encouragement. Let's navigate this journey together!
What to Expect:
- Peer Support: Attendees share experiences, challenges, and coping strategies in a safe, non-judgmental setting.
- Education: Meetings may include expert speakers, discussions on ADHD-related topics, or resources to help participants understand and manage symptoms.
- Community: The group fosters a sense of belonging and connection with others facing similar struggles, reducing feelings of isolation.
This group is organized and provided by CHADD-Ohio, a volunteer-run chapter of CHADD, the national nonprofit organization that supports ADHD education, advocacy, and resources.
Jean Tidd, LISW-S, ADHD-CCSP, SAP, will lead the group. Jean holds memberships in several ADHD organizations, including CHADD, APSARD, and ACO, and currently serves on CHADD’s board of directors. Most importantly, she is a card-carrying member of the ADHD community, as she too has been diagnosed with ADHD, as have two of her three children.
CHADD stands for Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder. It’s a national nonprofit organization founded in 1987. For nearly four decades, CHADD has been the leading resource for education, advocacy, and support for individuals with ADHD and their families.
Ohio CHADD. Here in Ohio, we, as a group of volunteers, bring CHADD’s mission to life by providing a more personal, community-driven approach. Our focus is on meeting people where they are, offering tailored support to the unique needs of children, adults, and families living with ADHD in our state.
At Ohio CHADD, we:
- Host local and virtual support groups where individuals and families can connect with others who truly understand their experiences. These groups are a safe space to share challenges, celebrate victories, and find solutions together.
- Provide educational workshops and presentations, bringing in experts to share the latest tools, strategies, and research for managing ADHD at home, at school, and in the workplace.
- Collaborate with local schools, medical professionals, and organizations to increase awareness and understanding of ADHD across Ohio. Our goal is to help reduce stigma and ensure individuals have access to the support and accommodations they need.
At both the national and state levels, CHADD thrives because of people like you—individuals who are committed to learning, growing, and supporting the ADHD community.
If you’re not already a member, I encourage you to join CHADD and become part of our community. Our Ohio Chapter receives a portion of every membership within the state. This allows us to support our programs.
Thank you,
Christine Kotik, PCC, NBC-HWC
