Certified Fishing Instructor Class

You will be learning how to teach ages 8 and over how to begin freshwater fishing. This class will show you the techniques we use to teach people who have never fished or just need a refresher course to begin fishing. You will be required to sign a volunteer agreement with SCDNR and pass a background check before taking the course. Please email davidsonmr@dnr.sc.gov for the paperwork to be accepted into the training. Your ticket will be cancelled if paperwork is not approved. You will be expected to uphold and promote SCDNR core values during the clinics and when representing the agency. You will need to have prior experience in freshwater fishing and tying a Palomar knot, Improved Clinch knot, baiting a hook with live bait and basic set up of a rod and closed face reel.
