Overview
This is one of several 'CERT Refresher' classes offered to help you stay current with what you learned in your original training.
This is part of an ongoing series of CERT Refresher Trainings
Topics to include:
- Community Education and Preparedness:To educate residents about potential hazards and promote disaster preparedness, mitigation, and response.
- Provide Immediate Response Capabilities:To equip volunteers with basic skills to provide hands-on assistance during the initial phase of a disaster.
- Assist First Responders:To act as extensions of professional teams, providing critical support and acting as the "eyes and ears" for uniformed emergency responders.
- Support Other Community Needs:To offer a potential workforce for non-hazardous functions, such as assisting in shelters, controlling crowds, or supporting damage assessments.
- Organize and Manage Spontaneous Volunteers:To help organize and manage untrained individuals who spontaneously appear at a disaster scene to offer assistance.
- Enhance Community Resilience:To foster a sense of self-sufficiency and resilience within the community, empowering residents to help themselves and their neighbors in a crisis.
- Promote Team Organization:To train members in team organization and effective communication, ensuring coordinated efforts during emergency operations.
'CERT Organization' will be held in English during a single ZOOM session.
