About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

Summer is here and seeds are ripening! In fact, our dry period is the ideal time for shucking and harvesting. Join TPF Seed Program and Conservation Manager, Genevieve Arnold, to learn methods for effective at-home or community garden seed saving in this seasonal online class. Delve into basic botany, as well as tips and tricks for seed collecting, processing and storing will be shared. Seed processing tools will be demonstrated and there will be plenty of space for questions, discussion and knowledge-sharing.

This class will be held online via Zoom and recorded. Registered participants will have access to a recording of the class for 2 weeks after the live event.

Genevieve Arnold is TPF’s Seed Program and Conservation Manager. Her focus is on the conservation and preservation of our local and regional habitats and seed banking rare plant species. She enjoys creating resilient garden spaces, be they large, small or in containers, which support healthy ecosystems while creating connectivity and joy. She appreciates the art and beauty of native plants in all their phases, including the amazing stages of fruit and seed development.
