About this event

Charity & Causes • Environment

Established in 1997 as part of a settlement agreement between the hydroelectric dam owner, several environmental organizations, and state and federal agencies, the Upper Connecticut Mitigation and Enhancement Fund at the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation has awarded nearly $25 million to 47 organizations dedicated to protecting and enhancing the Connecticut River Watershed. With the final grants awarded this year, this gathering offers an opportunity to reflect on the impact of those investments—and to celebrate this collaborative effort together.

We’ll hear brief remarks from invited speakers, including representatives from U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen’s office and former Vermont Governor Howard Dean, who both signed the 1997 settlement agreement. We’ll then unveil a new website highlighting the stories and impact of the fund’s work, followed by refreshments and time to connect.

The celebration will take place rain or shine at the Moore Reservoir Dam and Boat Launch Site in Littleton, NH — the site of the original 1997 settlement agreement signing which created the fund.

The event is hosted by Great River Hydro, the Upper Connecticut River Mitigation and Enhancement Fund Committee, and the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation.
