Catapult Physics!
By Jonathan
Overview
Kids 6-11 will learn the physics of engineering of siege engines and build their own popsicle catapult.
Is there anything more satisfying than watching two tons of stone soar through the air and flatten a wall on the way down? While we can’t promise any gravity-defying rocks, we can show you the ins and outs of catapults, trebuchets, and other machines for breaking down walls. Along the way, we’ll learn about Newton’s laws of motion and the dynamics of flying objects. Our kids will also be building and testing their own tension-based catapult from simple materials, theirs to keep!
