Be part of our entertainment industry dinner event series! We offer an intimate, exclusive look into the careers of guest speakers, allowing our audience enjoy dinner while connecting with managers, agents, producers, writers, and more! This time, we are featuring Amanda Richards, the director of Talent & Casting at Sony Pictures Television Studios, casting director Yolanda Guillen, known for "History of Them" and the "Party of Five" reboot, and talent agent James Murray of Abrams Artists Agency.
Amanda Richards: For 5 and half years she has grown at the company, working on shows such as “Wheel of Time”, “Party of Five”, “The Boys”, “Deadly Class” and “Electric Dreams”. Amanda speaks on panels and teaches all of the country including a master class at Elon University. She is also the president of the “Emerging Professionals” on the Sony lot. Amanda has a BA in Theatre and Marketing from Emerson College and is extremely passionate about musical theater and travel.
Yolanda Guillen: Her expertise in the Latino community in the US as well as in Latin America opened the doors for her in TV shows for top networks in the Hispanic Television in the US, as well as in Mexico, and Colombia.
In 2011 and then again in 2013, she was hired by FOX Television Network to conduct a search for Latino talent. This led to her working in pilots for FOX Television Network and NBC Universal. She was also approached by Walt Disney Pictures to help search for the lead Latino characters in a feature film. In 2017 she was tapped by ABC Studios to oversee Latino hires for their entire pilot line- up. Later that year, she was hired by Nickelodeon as a project-specific casting executive. Although Yolanda is mostly known for her work within the Hispanic Market in the US, she is often asked to cast projects in different countries, like the Broadway production of "The Lion King" in Madrid, Spain.
James Murray. Veteran agent James Murray heads the voiceover division at Abrams Artists Agency where he has worked extensively across commercial, television and feature animation, interactive, narration, promos, TV affiliates and radio imaging, and audiobooks. During the span of his career, James’ focus in television and feature animation has led him to represent the leads in hit shows and feature-length animated films for some of today’s largest networks and studios. After joining the agency’s New York City team in 2008, James relocated to Los Angeles in 2014 to helm the voiceover department and grow the team. A native of the Empire State, he graduated from the State University of New York College at Cortland.
