Create a one-of-a-kind pen from scratch! In this two-part workshop, you’ll learn the full process of resin casting and pen turning using Rockler’s molds, pressure pot, turning tools, and pen kits. Whether you’re brand new to resin or looking to level up your turning skills, this class gives you everything you need to walk away with a custom, high-gloss pen you made yourself. Part 1: Cast Your Resin Blanks - Choose colors, mica powders, metallics, and inclusions. Mix and pour your own resin blanks using Rockler silicone molds. Learn pressure pot techniques for bubble-free casts. Discuss curing, trimming, and prepping blanks for the lathe. Part 2: Mill & Turn Your Pen - De-mold and square your cured blanks. Turn the blanks on the lathe to create your pen barrels. Sand, polish, and finish to a high-gloss shine. Assemble your custom pen using a Rockler pen kit. You’ll leave class with a completed pen and the skills to create more at home.
