This fall, New York will witness the long-overdue American premiere of Cassandra, the visionary masterpiece by pioneering Ukrainian modernist Lesia Ukrainka. Produced by Razom for Ukraine and Eklektika Productions, this landmark production runs October 10 -19 as part of the Ukrainian Cultural Festival: Against the Grain. Written in 1907, Cassandra reimagines the fall of Troy through the eyes of a prophetess cursed never to be believed.

Artemis Wheelock directs Ukrainka’s fearless drama, which resonates with today’s battles over propaganda, war, and truth. 10 performances only.

Cast: Jacob Anderson, Mari Blake, E Mani Cadet, Dominika Handzlik, Isis Henderson, Melinda Nanovsky, Jerilyn Sackler, and Thomas Shuman.

Event takes place at Teatro LATEA, which is located inside the Clemente building on 107 Suffolk Street. There is a large archway entrance, double doors, and a front desk when you walk inside. Then you head up to LATEA on the 2nd floor.
