Cartoonists Northwest December With Jeff Lewonczyk
Overview
Jeff Lewonczyk is a writer, illustrator, cartoonist, designer, editor, and publisher based in Brooklyn, New York, with an interest in exploring how visual communication can bring people together. After 20 years of producing independent theater in NYC (including two Comic Book Theater Festivals), he turned his focus to writing and drawing across various projects. For four years, he and his wife, Hope Cartelli, mounted the Paper House project on New York's Governor's Island, where they covered the walls of a former military officers' house with paper and invited the public to come scribble and make crafts together. More recently, he has co-founded and edited the print-only literary broadsheet slips slips, which aspires to create a "community on paper" through the establishment of a free, inclusive art newspaper. In Fall 2026, he'll be one of the inaugural professors for the School of Visual Arts' newly launched MPS Data Visualization & Communication program. You can learn more about Jeff and his work at his website, jeffisaweso.me, and his newsletter, The Jeff Stream.
