NFPA 1001 Firefighter I & II • Live Fire • Forcible Entry • MBFTE Reimbursable
Ready to step onto the fireground with confidence? The Carlton County Area Firefighter I/II Training Program delivers the essential hands-on skills every new firefighter needs — with a strong emphasis on live-fire operations, forcible entry, and practical fireground performance.
This hybrid course combines flexible online learning with two highly intensive, scenario-based skills weekends. You'll train shoulder-to-shoulder with experienced instructors, perform real-world firefighting tasks, and build the foundation required for NFPA 1001 competency.
You’ll learn how to:
🔥 Operate confidently in full PPE and SCBA under live-fire conditions
🔥 Perform interior fire attack, fire behavior recognition, and nozzle techniques
🔥 Execute effective forcible entry with tools like the halligan, flat-head axe, and K-tool
🔥 Conduct primary and secondary search operations
🔥 Deploy and advance hose lines in realistic fireground scenarios
🔥 Perform vertical and horizontal ventilation
🔥 Raise ladders, establish water supply, and support fireground operations
🔥 Complete overhaul, salvage, and scene preservation procedures
🔥 Work effectively within the Incident Command System during evolving incidents
This program emphasizes real skill, real heat, and real fireground expectations — giving new firefighters the confidence to step into their role with competence and safety.
