Career Dharma - Three Day Coaches Certification Course

Career Dharma - Three Day Coaches Certification Course

Overview

A three day course for participants with the below listed prerequisites to earn their certificates as associate Career Dharma coaches.

Are you inspired by helping people to discover their strengths and nature so they can find deeply satisfying career success and harmonious balance between their career and spiritual life?

You will learn and practice helping others to identify their ideal career field and prosperity type, progress towards dharmic mastery, and learn the secrets of making their work deeply meaningful. You’ll learn how to help others to apply the principles of devotional living to their career, and their career will thus enthuse their spiritual practices with deep meaning and taste.

Meet your instructor: Dr. Urmila Edith Best, with a doctorate in education from UNC Chapel Hill, has circled the world over 20 times, delivering workshops and one-on-one coaching. She has helped hundreds of people in dozens of countries find meaningful success in careers that resonate with their own values and nature. Dr. Best surveyed nearly 400 people on six continents for her in-depth research that explored the relationship between overall job satisfaction and various aspects of work, including spiritual faith and practice. She worked as a teacher and school principal for 27 years.

Participants must complete one of the following three prerequisites prior to attending the three day Career Dharma coaches certification course.

Prerequisites list:

1) Have read chapters 1- 29 of the book Career Dharma.

2) Attended the full five session presentation of Career Dharma taught by Dr. Best. This can only be attended in person. One of these prerequisite workshops will be held in Hillsborough, North Carolina on Saturday January 10th. To register for this course in Hillsborough you can follow the below link.

3) Have completed the Career Dharma on-line course, which can be acquired at https://careerdharma.net/course/. This course is designed with multiple modules that take 5 - 10 minutes to complete and are followed by quizzes with a minimum passing score to ensure students understand the material prior to advancing to the next set of modules. The formatting of the course is designed to be smoothly completed in short increments in order to be both favorable for completion and easily soaked in by adults who are taking it while also involved with work and children. This course does take up to 15 hours, and students taking it as a prerequisite to the three day coaches certification course are advised to begin it six weeks in advance.

Only one (or more) of the above is required to attend. Ideally, some background or experience with coaching, counseling, and/or teaching will make it easier to follow the course materials and achieve certification. It may also be good to keep in mind that traditionally, this kind of counseling and coaching is done by those who are themselves in the Field of Ideas or the Field of Government. Also, participants are expected to attend the full 18 hours which includes being present for the first two sessions. (If someone feels that they absolutely cannot attend the entire course, that person should contact Urmila directly and discuss the situation).

Certification is based on demonstrated proficiency, not just attendance. The criteria for certification are:

1: Be able to explain the six prosperity types and the four fields (the four fields both in terms of specific careers and temperaments)

2: Write the nine principles of Career Dharma from memory

3: Explain common misconceptions and demonstrate avoiding them in class interactions and practice coaching

4: Be able to help at least three people in class to understand their prosperity types and field (principle one)

5: Be able to help at least one person make a plan for working in their career dharmically (principles three - seven)
