Programs Description: CARE (Community Awareness, Reduction & Education) is an educational series designed to raise awareness about substance use disorders and their effects on the community. These workshops cover a range of topics, including an overview of various substances, substance use, and prevention strategies, emphasizing the importance of proactive intervention. Additionally, the series explores harm reduction strategies tailored to substance use disorders, offering practical approaches to minimize associated risks. CARE also includes a dedicated monthly session on safe binding and tucking practices, providing guidance on proper techniques, use of tape, and self-care to ensure safety and well-being.

What resources will be available to me ?

We offer and distribute FREE harm reduction materials such as Naloxone(Narcan), contraceptives, fentanyl testing strips. We also offer a selection of free binders and tucking kits, as well as guidance on proper techniques to ensure comfort and safety.

When do you meet?

2nd and 4th Thursday between 4:00PM-5:30PM

Is this regular program for all ages?

This program may have sensitive topics and open discussions as there is a discretion advised. We recommend ages 12 and above since conversation does include prevention, substance use disorder, and harm reduction.

Does this program offer FREE therapeutic services?

We do offer FREE therapeutic services for those that are interested in talking to someone professionally.

Is this regular program resourceful?

Of course! We provide a safe space and programming for those that are seeking resources and information. We also work with different community partners to help and navigate with what may be needed.

What substance use and prevention information will I receive?

Our topics/themes are educational that include discussions and an activity. We encourage community to come to our safe space and share their experience based on the topic of conversation.

I saw that you offer Naloxone (Narcan)? Is it free?

Yes it is free!! Our harm reduction materials are free and are at no cost. Please come visit Pomona Valley Pride to pick up your harm reduction materials.
