CAPS: College Application Process Seminars for HS Students

Based on the book, Project Plan Your College Career: From Application to Graduation, Maps to Caps Event(s) support those preparing for, entering, or already admitted to college; in a variety of ways until the graduation day.

Whether you join us after your Kaplan class, or in lieu of it ....we invite you to our workshop to discuss the College Search and Application Process. Maps to Caps events shares strategies on how to organize and optimize your college search, build application appeal, and a more fulfilling college career. After all, it is not just about whether you meet their criteria, but whether they meet yours...

Together we share stories and strategies, activities and techinques to assist with developing a basic college career blueprint you can adapt along the way and easily implement year to year. This includes creating outlets to "become" more strategic and intentional about one’s college pursuits – while also leaving room for the random, unplanned, and unknown.

The goal is to decrease any stress around the college application process, while increasing student satisfaction with their choices and becoming more aligned with one’s overall objectives....and your ideal college outcomes. We provide a safe space to discuss any hopes or fears, adjustments or anxieties, barriers and opportunities to one's success.

If you can not make our event, our consultation also consists of several exercises and activities including Criteria Comparison, 3 Aces & a Spade, TEAS/SKETS, SWOT, and Zap the Gap. COLLEGE COACH

Facilitator is a former educator who has experience working in traditional public and preparatory charter schools developing college advisory curriculum. She also worked for New York University (NYU) building partnerships with secondary public schools and is eager to support young talent with their college and career plans. She has three advanced degrees in education, international relations and business and can speak to students with a variety of interests. Our facilitator is well equipped to help you explore multiple areas of study at our online or onsite seminars.
