Candidate getting ready to run real talk

This is for candidates getting considering running, getting ready to run, or at the beginning stages of running. First-time candidates can especially benefit from this training.

Most workshops teach you how to be a good candidate- knocking on doors, making phone calls, fundraising, etc. While those are important skills that we will touch on, every candidate is unique and every campaign have their own, important roadblocks. Typically, the traditional workshop doesn't answer the important questions you have.

This workshop will be honest about running and set you up for success as yourself. Some of the topics will include these and more:

1. What to do to prepare to run
2. What to expect from your personal network
3. How to budget, choose volunteer advisors (and who to listen to when) and wisely hire staff/consultants (and what to do if you can't afford it).
4. What to realistically expect in terms of stress, time management, interpersonal dynamics, from voters, press, and opponents.
5. Inoculation techniques - or, what messaging strategies and tactics can you take if you are or might be attacked in different ways.

I'll also be sending out a survey to participants beforehand to hear what other concerns they have to address them during the workshop and portioning a chunk of time for questions (and we can run over should anyone like to stick around).

You'll be sent online workbooks to help you write time and plan based on our conversation.

Tickets are $35, and group rates are available for organizations looking to send their membership. Participants will be capped to ensure enough focus for everyone, but if there is demand, I will schedule a second.
