"Can I Help You?": Virtual Workshop for Professional Helpers (3 CEUs)

Online event

Overview

An Interactive Webinar for Licensed Behavioral Health Professionals. Counts towards TxBHEC Requirements for Cultural Competency CEUs.

Faced with differences in race, gender, language or culture, you may wonder, “Can I help you?”

This Virtual Workshop invites participants to examine how history, culture, and personal upbringing shape how we assess, interpret, and intervene, giving professional helpers the tools to feel confident when working with diverse individuals. Through a blend of epistemology, self-reflection and cultural humility, this interactive workshop goes beyond “what to know” about diversity to deep-dive into the "how" and "why" of what we know. When our time together ends, you'll emerge with a compassionate understanding of how different perspectives strengthen our shared humanity.

About Catherine Baggett, LCSW-S

Named a "Top 40 Visionary" by Vision Something! Dallas, Catherine is the Founder/Clinical Director of Unity Mental Health Services, a holistic Private Therapy Practice located near Dallas, Texas. As a Bilingual (English/Spanish) professional working in community settings, Catherine spent over a decade mastering ways to effectively honor and serve clients from populations that don't look like her.

Catherine believes that individual healing cannot be separated from its environmental context and so incorporates CommUNITY healing into her practice. In her advocacy work, Catherine served as a Founding Member of the Force for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (FIRE) in 2016, and as Co-Chair for the Ecosystem Committee for the Dallas Youth Safety Council (organized by Lone Star Justice Alliance) in 2024.

Whenever she gets a (rare) few minutes away, Catherine enjoys reading, dreaming, and spending time in her Garden to play in the dirt.
