Camp Wings of Friendship Showcase in Partnership with The Broward Center

Camp Wings of Friendship is a free virtual summer camp for teens and adults with disabilities that took place for eight weeks during the summer of 2020 as we navigated the Covid-19 crisis. Individuals with disabilities are often marginalized and excluded from opportunities to enjoy meaningful, equitable experiences and develop authentic friendships. This has been amplified by the pandemic and this challenging time of social isolation.

We became a family. Wings of Friendship has grown and developed into a close knit community since March. Our motto is "look for the good." We have spent many hours together, creating special memories, fostering connections and enjoying new experiences.

The Friendship Journey and Dylan's Wings of Change along with The Broward Center for the Performing Arts, UM-NSU CARD, Kindness Shared Happiness Squared, Monkey See Monkey Do Art Studio, Orange Ribbons For Jaime, the Gina Rose Montalto Memorial Foundation and other wonderful individuals and community partners-in-kind have come together to make this magic possible. We have continued to lead free, virtual programming to support individuals of all ages and abilities. Since March of 2020, we have led 23 weeks of scheduled activities, 161 days of connection and over 200 hours of love and friendship. We have quickly discovered the accessible opportunities that the virtual world has made possible.

Join us from the comfort of your home for a unique, engaging virtual evening at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts including special performances by broadway stars Joshua Turchin, Syndee Winters and Jelani Remy along with campers and counselors that is guaranteed to make you smile. Our Camp Wings of Friendship Showcase is an opportunity for our community to be part of our special camp family while supporting the nonprofit organizations who make these experiences possible.

Your ticket is a donation and guests are welcome to pay what they can. 100% of the proceeds will support our ongoing mission to create equitable and inclusive friendships and connections amongst individuals of all abilities. Our charities are able to do what we do with the support of our generous community. We sincerely appreciate your kindness. All of the proceeds will go directly to The Friendship Journey & Dylan's Wings of Change, so we may continue to run camp and free programs to cultivate friendships amongst individuals of all abilities. We will also have opportunities to support our other community partners.

Love is the answer. Our Parkland and Sandy Hook communities honor Dylan Hockley, Jaime Guttenberg, Gina Montalto and all who have been taken from this world due to hatred and violence through acts of love and kindness.
