The Tarble is proud to partner with EIU’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program to host the Camille Compo Lecture Series on Thursday, March 25 at 5:00 pm with visiting artist, Addoley Dzegede. The public lecture will be held on Zoom. The link will be emailed to registered attendees before the event.
About Addoley Dzegede:
Addoley Dzegede (b. 1983) is currently exhibiting work as part of the Tarble Arts Center's site responsive digital exhibition, "Press Play." She holds a BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, and an MFA in Visual Art from Washington University in St Louis. She is currently a fellow at the Tulsa Artist Fellowship. She has most recently been an Artist-in-Residence at The Norton Museum of Art in West Palm Beach (2020), Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2019), Osei Duro in Accra, Ghana (2019), and Thread: a project of the Albers Foundation in Senegal (2018). Solo exhibitions include millefiori, at KSMoCA in Portland (2020), and Ballast, at the Contemporary Art Museum St Louis (2018). Awards include a 2018 Great Rivers Biennial award, and a 2018 Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters & Sculptors Grant.
About Camille Compo:
Camille Compo began her career at EIU in the Office of Budget and Planning, retiring in 2001 as an Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of External Relations. The Camille Compo Lecture Series has been made possible by the estate of Camille Compo to honor her passion for learning, the arts, and her long-time commitment to EIU Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Program.
