The CALM Trainer Refresher Course is required every two years to maintain trainer authorization and access to CALM materials. The curriculum is designed for those trained after June, 2023. During this 4.5-hour session, participants will be guided through updates to the CALM Clinical Workshop materials and receive access to our online portal. Participants will also participate in CALM-SAFE, a firearms literacy training that will enhance trainers' cultural competency and ability to address questions related to firearms and secure storage.

Frequently asked questions

Can I take this if I have not taken the CALM Train-the-Trainer (T4T) course?

No- this session is only for those who have already completed the full two-day CALM Train-the-Trainer course. Individuals who have taken the CALM Clinical Workshop are not eligible.

Can I take this course if I completed the T4T less than two years ago?

Yes- if you have taken the T4T course less than two years ago, you are still welcome to take this course. Your authorization will reset to expire two years from completion of this course.

Am I required to attend the entire session?

Yes- attendance of the entire session is required for authorization renewal. You will also be required to pass a post-training examination for renewal.
