About this event

Join us for an evening exploring how design shapes the way we gather, connect, and create belonging. Featuring the Brand Partners selected by Anand Sheth, architect and curator of Storefront Anand Sheth x York Street Collective: Fyrn, Idaho Wood Lighting, Entler Studio, RAD Furniture, and Post Company—this conversation delves into the evolving language of California design.

The space was recently featured in Interior Design as a space that fosters art and ideas.

Through the lens of hospitality as community-building, we’ll look at how local values of sustainability, craft, and light inform a new aesthetic and mindset—one that balances authenticity with innovation. Together, these makers and designers are redefining what “California Modern” means today: adaptable, hospitality-driven environments where architecture and objects invite people to gather, linger, and connect.

Hosted by Storefront Anand Sheth x York Street Collective and Design Bay Area, this event brings together the region’s leading voices in furniture, lighting, and interior design to imagine the future of gathering spaces—where design becomes the sharpest tool for community expression.

Tickets include one craft mocktail by York Street Collective. Additional mocktails available for purchase.

On view during our evening reception will be a new gallery exhibition featuring plug-in sconces by Amanda Swain (Chimera Design), Rico Duendes, Sergio Mondragón, soft-geometry, and John Gnorski (for Studio Ahead)—each exploring the face, lineage, and personal histories through light and form. While not the focus of the program, these works will serve as an illuminated backdrop, extending the conversation on how identity and craft inform the spaces in which we gather.

ABOUT:

Storefront Anand Sheth x York Street Collective reclaims a historic corner of the Mission District as a new kind of exhibition space: one that resists neutrality, resists spectacle, and insists on specificity. Designed and built by Studio Anand Sheth in under a month, the project transforms the former Lucca Ravioli Co. building into an inhabitable display of contemporary art, design, and cultural memory. It is both an architectural intervention and a curatorial gesture—staged in collaboration with York Street Collective and powered by Square and SF New Deal. Here, the lines between domestic space, showroom, studio, and gallery are purposefully blurred.
