Weighing the Pros & Cons of Applying for Disability

This training, led by a Disability Network community engagement representative, offers a basic introduction to the Social Security Administration’s (SSA) disability benefits system. Attendees will gain insights to help determine whether applying for disability benefits would be necessary and advantageous for their specific situation. The session will cover the two primary SSA programs, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), along with an overview of the application process. Additionally, the training will emphasize the importance of continued employment and explore the benefits of working while receiving disability benefits.
