The CA  Section of the American Chemical Society (ACS) is over 100 years old and one of the more than 180 local  ACS sections in the country. It is the professional home to about 3500 chemists working in a very large area in Northern CA. We advance the national ACS goals to 1) provide chemical information solutions for issues facing the scientific community, 2) empower members and member communities, 3) support excellence in education, and 4) communicate chemistry's value to the public and policy makers. Our Section has several volunteer-staffed committees that focus on the above goals. Our members include chemists who work in academia, private industry, government, and non-profit organizations with a scientific basis, such as science museums. Our website address is: www.calacs.org, and more information about our monthly meetings, special events, and other committee meetings may be found there.
