Make & Take Cabinetry: Build Your Own Kitchen-Style Base Cabinet
Looking to enhance your woodworking skills while creating a functional piece for your home? In this two-day class, you’ll build a kitchen-style base cabinet using premium Baltic birch plywood and hardwood maple. By the end, you’ll walk away with a completed cabinet and the confidence to tackle more complex cabinetry projects!
What You’ll Build
In this class, you’ll construct a sturdy cabinet carcass from Baltic birch plywood, add a hardwood maple face frame, and assemble a shaker-style door (maple frame and birch panel) along with a maple drawer front. Everything is tied together with premium Blum European hardware for smooth operation and a professional finish.
Day 1
During the first three-hour session, you’ll cut materials to size using a table saw and miter saw, then assemble the cabinet carcass. You’ll finish the day by attaching the maple face frame using pocket hole joinery for a clean, durable fit.
Day 2
On the second three-hour day, you’ll build and install the shaker-style door and assemble the drawer, then mount both with Blum hardware. We’ll wrap up with final checks and finishing tips—you’ll leave class with a fully functional cabinet ready for your home or workshop.
