C2ST Speakeasy with Tejas Shastry
"What's the deal with wearable technology?" with Tejas Shastry
Wearable devices such as smartwatches and fitness trackers have brought us closer to quantifying our lives, but will they truly change the way we interact with the world? This talk exlpores how the right combination of advances in energy harvesting, big data, and artificial intelligence could enable wearable devices to truly become digital extensions of us as humans.

Tejas Shastry is the CEO and Co-Founder of AMPY, a Chicago based company building smarter batteries for smartphones and wearables. Its first consumer product is the AMPY One Motion Charger, a wearable device that turns a user's movement into power for their USB devices. Shastry is a Ph.D. Candidate at Northwestern University in Material Science, and was recently named to Forbes "30 under 30."
C2ST Speakeasy is held on the first and third Tuesdays of every month. Attendance is free, but registration is strongly encouraged. Seating is first come, first serve, and registration does not guarantee a seat.
