About this event

Important Info:

The first session will cover film processing, proofing and an introduction to darkroom printing. The second session will be a more in depth experience with darkroom printing. Keep this in mind when planning your workshop schedule.

You can mix and match months if needed. You must purchase additional tickets if you want to take the workshop pairing more than once.

Class Description:

These classes cover the development, proofing, and printing of black-and-white film. The complete experience will take place over two Saturdays from 12 to 4. One session will cover loading, developing, and proofing film and an introduction to printing.

Pour over your proof sheets at home and return for a second Saturday session for an afternoon of printing with instructor assistance.

Participants are welcome to sign up for one or both sessions- for flexiblility purposes they do not need to be consecutive Saturdays, unless you choose to do so.

Participants must come to class with 1-2 rolls of exposed black & white film- 35mm or medium format. The first session requires minimal printing so paper will be provided. You will need to bring your own photo paper to the next session. We recommend 8x10 variable contrast RC paper.

Spring/Early Summer sessions: 4/5, 4/26, 5/3, 5/17, 6/7, 6/21

Location:

We will be working in the spacious, ventilated, well-appointed darkroom at Cleveland State University.
