"But What About My Needs?!": Navigating Power Struggles In Relationships
Do you want to break free from the recurring conflicts that keep you and your partner stuck?
We all know those painful stand-offs over whose needs get met, and the frustration and despair of not getting what we need from our partner -- again. We've all fallen into that same fight that seems to get us farther from resolution the more times we have it. And I bet we all know with certainty that if our partner just did x, we’d feel better, while they know that if we did y, there wouldn’t be an issue to begin with!
In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn a simple but transformative framework to help you break out of intractable patterns, move towards greater intimacy, and find creative solutions to long-standing conflicts.
We will explore:
-What exactly is a power struggle, and how does it show up in our relationships?
-How our bodies let us know when we're in the power struggle
-Concrete tools to shift out of the power struggle
-A framework for emotional processing that avoids power pitfalls, builds intimacy, and supports you to resolve your trickiest issues
The workshop will include instruction, discussion, and experiential practice. All are welcome, whether you're partnered or single, monogamous or poly, a brand new couple or married for twenty years. You do not need to come with a partner in order to attend.
