About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

In their eagerness to pursue their mission, organizations often overlook the groundwork necessary to create a sustainable volunteer program.

VolunteerNow designs practical, proprietary curriculum based upon our 53 years of experience in working with organizations to improve their recruitment, engagement and retention of volunteers.

This hands-on workshop will guide you through building the tools and resources for a successful volunteer program including policies and procedures, a volunteer application, job description, volunteer handbook, orientation checklist, liability waiver and more.

Participation in this workshop will help you:

  • Identify the fundamental tools and resources needed for a successful volunteer program
  • Understand key policies and procedures for managing volunteers
  • Develop a table of contents for a volunteer manual
  • Learn the components of an effective volunteer job description
  • Identify acknowledgements recommended to protect your volunteers and your agency
  • Establish a checklist for volunteer orientation and training

Please bring samples of your current materials and be ready to ‘roll-up up your sleeves’ and work.

The course is ideal for anyone responsible for managing volunteers including nonprofit volunteer managers, executive directors, program managers, and volunteer leaders.
