Building with raw earth - a discovery workshop

A one-day practical workshop on the potential of building with raw earth building.

Program

This workshop shares knowledge on earth materials through practice. Participants will discover different construction techniques through a series of hands-on manipulations.

• Raw Material : You will experiment a variety of soils and practice field tests.
• Experimenting : Working in group, you will do a serie of experiments to understand earth properties.
• Sample: You will experiment with earth mix to produce rammed-earth samples.
• Theory & Context: A short lecture on material potentials, basic principles and contemporary architectural examples.

For Whom

The workshop is aimed at architects, designers, artists, hands-on enthousiastics and self-builders looking to expand their material knowledge. No prior knowledge is required.

Practical Informations

• Participants: Minimum of 6 people.
• Language: English / Dutch / French (adapted to participants).
• To bring: Work clothes and work shoes

Insurance

We'll be working with natural materials, so we ask that everyone pays attention and follows the instructor's guidance. This helps us create a safe and inspiring day. Please note that participation is at your own risk. We look forward to exploring earth together.

Cancellation

You can cancel your ticket 14 days prior to the workshop. You will have the option to participate in an upcoming Building with raw earth workshop. For a refund a small charge will be asked for adminstration costs.
