Event description

Description

All teams experience breakdowns in their effectiveness. These can be more easily and quickly resolved if you do some work in advance. Building trust and establishing clear norms and expectations can reduce conflicts and increase accountability to organizational goals.

This interactive workshop is designed to help participants explore 13 Trust Behaviors. We will do a ‘trust building exercise’ (no worries we aren’t going to fall into each other's arms, build human pyramids or play silly games!) that you can use to help teams coalesce. You will also learn how to develop team norms, and facilitate discussions that increase trust between team members. There will be opportunities to exchange ‘best practice’ ideas.

This session is appropriate for executives, managers, supervisors and team members.

Participant Outcomes

You will learn...

  • How to foster behaviors that buld an effective team: Trust, healthy conflict, peer to peer accountability, commitment, and attention to results.
  • How to engage in difficult conversations that address unproductive behaviors.
  • How to establish team norms that build trust and create a high performing team
  • Learn how to support and encourage peer to peer accountability

Meet the Trainer

Maureen Moriarty MA (Applied Behavioral Science in Consulting/Coaching in Organizations) brings 30+ years’ leadership experience guiding leaders and leading teams. She founded Path to Change (http://pathtochange.com/) to help improve leadership and team performance. She helps leaders deal more effectively with “problematic” (but valued employees), working through interpersonal, emotional intelligence and team conflict, which can leave teams stuck and leaders drained. She is a professional accredited coach of the prestigious Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara and has taught leadership/team development courses for faculty at the University of Washington, for Bellevue College, and for many Puget Sound Best Place To Work organizations.

Maureen is returning as a trainer chosen by the Staff Development Coalition and has incorporated feedback from previous trainings in this session.
