This engaging and practical 3-hour virtual session helps early childhood educators bring the Science of Reading into the preschool classroom. Attendance at our Introduction to the Science of Reading workshop is helpful, but not required.

Our Facilitator: Brigid Cook, M. Ed., C.A.S.

Brigid Cook is a seasoned educator with over 15 years of classroom experience in Baltimore City and currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Teacher Education Department at Harford Community College.

She brings deep expertise in early childhood education and literacy development, with over 200 hours of professional development in the Science of Reading and 250 supervised hours under a Certified Academic Language Therapist. Brigid is in her second year of ALTA training and has received the highest level of Orton-Gillingham instruction.

Brigid is passionate about turning everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences. She integrates research from neuroscience and cognitive psychology to inform her teaching and inspire others. As a mother of three school-age daughters, she brings both professional and personal insight into early literacy development.
