Join Wild Virginia and The Southeast Conservation Adaptation Strategy (SECAS) to explore tools and strategies that connect lands, waters, and wildlife!
Across the nation, regional conservation partnerships are bringing together coalitions of partners to protect the lands and waters we all depend on. The Southeast Conservation Adaptation Strategy (SECAS) is working with partners to build a connected network of lands and waters and achieving conservation wins for regional priorities through local engagement.
A key tool of this effort is the Southeast Conservation Blueprint, a living map that identifies the best places for the conservation community to work together towards a connected network of lands and waters across the Southeast and Caribbean. Already, more than 480 people from 190 organizations have used it to guide their work, helping secure $370 million in funding to protect and restore 400,000 acres.
The Blueprint also identifies wildlife corridors that connect coasts to inland areas and link across changing climates. These connections are especially important for ongoing wildlife corridor efforts in Virginia!
