Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) programs, and perhaps most prominently those addressing gender inequality, are gaining more attention in high tech. While larger companies, such as Google, NVIDIA or Qualcomm, offer attractive programs ranging from employee groups to childcare and fertility treatments, smaller companies with less resources often find it hard to address gender inequality in meaningful ways.

The semiconductor industry is notorious for its lack of gender representation: While roughly one fifth of its employees are women, less than 1% rise to or above director level. Moreover, those in leadership positions are often in non-technical fields such as human resources or marketing. (GSA & Accenture, 2019)

This session introduces some strategies and a practical roadmap for designing impactful and customized D&I programs for high tech. Case example from Axiado Corporation, a cybersecurity processor startup launching its Diversity & Inclusion at Axiado (DIA) program this fall.
