Building Healthy Relationships in the Black Community

By Sheridan Black Students Association

Overview

Join us for a youth-focused panel on healthy relationships—breaking myths, building understanding, and strengthening community ties!

The Healthy Relationships Discussion Panel is an engaging, youth-focused event dedicated to fostering understanding, breaking misconceptions, and building stronger relationships within our community. This event provides a safe space for open conversations about relationships, family dynamics, and gender perspectives while emphasizing the importance of understanding the impact of upbringing on how we think and act.

The panel features four professional panelists—experts in relationships, family counseling, and youth mentorship—who will lead thought-provoking discussions, educate attendees, and guide meaningful conversations. Through carefully crafted questions, youth participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their beliefs and experiences, discuss them openly, and gain insights from both peers and professionals.

By addressing the challenges and opportunities in family and relationship dynamics, this event aims to empower youth with the tools they need to foster healthier, more understanding relationships and create a stronger sense of community.
