Building Generative AI Literacy for K-12 Educators
Overview
The AI Literacy Collaborative brings together UC San Diego’s Department of Education Studies, CREATE., Social Cognitive Development Lab, and the UCI Teacher Academy to support ethical, evidence-informed AI literacy in K–12 education. This two-day convening series helps educators translate emerging AI research into practical, classroom-ready approaches for teaching with and about artificial intelligence.
About the Event
Day 1 focuses on building a shared foundation for teaching with and about generative AI, creating common ground across roles, districts, and perspectives as educators begin this work together.
What We’ll Explore
- How generative AI works and what it means for teaching and learning
- Responsible and ethical use, including accuracy, bias, fairness, and transparency
- District stories and approaches from across the region
- Shared perspectives, needs, and challenges voiced by educators and partners
Who Should Attend
Teachers, administrators, curriculum specialists, instructional coaches, researchers, and community partners who want to build a clear foundation in AI literacy.
Why Attend
We are able to offer this convening at a reduced registration rate thanks to collaborative funding and institutional support dedicated to advancing equitable, research-based AI literacy in K–12 education.
