Join us for an empowering, interactive workshop with Deirdre Flores, founder of The Teen SLP, designed to provide parents of neurodiverse elementary, middle, and high school students with concrete tools to foster their child's independence.

This session will focus on the essential social, communication, and life skills that pave the way for success both in and out of the classroom. You'll learn how to identify the specific skills your child needs to thrive as they grow. Using real-world examples, role-playing, and practical, parent-friendly tools, Deirdre will guide you through age-appropriate strategies you can apply immediately at home and in your community.

  • Strengthen Social Communication: Learn simple scripts and routines to help your child build relationships and navigate social situations.
  • Encourage Self-Advocacy & Problem-Solving: Equip your child with the skills to confidently ask for help and take on new responsibilities.
  • Support Independence: Discover how to build independence step-by-step, whether your child needs help making friends or is preparing for college or a career.

This workshop is for any parent looking for a clear, actionable roadmap to support their child's confidence, connection, and independence.

Co-sponsored by The New Canaan Library.

Registration is not required to view the recording, which will be available on YouTube.
