About the instructor:

Helen Klebesadel (MFA UW-Madison) is a Madison based visual artist and a popular arts educator. Since retiring from an academic career to full-time art making, she continues to share her love of art through workshops and art mentoring. Born and raised in rural Wisconsin, Helen is best known for her environmental and women centered artworks in watercolors that push the traditional boundaries of the medium in scale, content, and technique. Klebesadel has exhibited her watercolors nationally and internationally, including through the U.S. Arts in the Embassies Program. The Bergstrom- Mahler Museum presented her first solo museum exhibition in 1994. Her academic career includes a tenured professorship at Lawrence University, and academic appointments art UW System and UW-Madison (including serving as the Director of the Wisconsin Regional Art Program, WRAP).

She is a national past president of the Women’s Caucus for Art and has served on the Wisconsin Arts Board. Helen’s paintings are represented in numerous public and private art collections.
