- Watercolor Fundamentals: A Creative Four-Week Journey for Beginners
Join us for a relaxed and inspiring four-week watercolor course designed especially for beginners. Whether you're picking up a brush for the first time or rediscovering your creative side, this course will gently guide you through the basics. Each session builds on the last, helping you grow your skills, boost your confidence, and fall in love with the beauty of watercolor. You'll explore essential techniques, get to know your materials, and by the end, create your own lovely watercolor pieces to be proud of. But dont worry if you miss a week there will be time for review.
What to Expect:
- Week 1: Introduction to watercolor materials and tools. Learn proper setup, basic brush techniques, and simple washes to create texture and depth. By the end of this session, create a simple landscape or abstract piece using washes.
- Week 2: Expanding on techniques with color mixing and layering. Explore transparency, gradients, and creating harmonious palettes. Students will complete a vibrant color study or small floral painting.
- Week 3: Applying skills to create small compositions. Focus on detail work, shadows, and highlights to bring your artwork to life. This session will result in a detailed still-life or nature-inspired piece.
- Week 4: Final project: Create a completed watercolor piece that showcases the techniques and concepts you've learned throughout the course.
A detailed materials list will be provided before the course begins. By the end of each session, students will complete a unique piece of artwork while building their confidence and skills in this expressive medium.
