Opening Remarks
The conference will begin with opening remarks from:

  • Jérôme Lesueur, Deputy Director for Education & Research at École nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, who will set the stage by highlighting the school’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in construction and education.
  • Yves Bréchet, Scientific Director at Saint-Gobain and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of École nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, who will share his vision on the crucial role of science and industry collaboration in building a resilient future.

Keynote Addresses and Expert Insights
This unique event will feature a series of keynote speeches and expert presentations from leading voices in the field:

  • Stephen Richardson, Senior Impact Director at the World Green Building Council, will explore the evolution of building codes worldwide, examining how regulations must adapt to meet the challenges of climate change and drive sustainable construction practices.
  • Pasquale Capizzi, Associate Director and Europe Climate Change Risk, Resilience and Adaptation Leader at Arup, will focus on innovative building design and resilience strategies, sharing best practices to ensure that the built environment can withstand and adapt to future climate impacts.
  • Louis-Gaëtan Giraudet, Director of Research at CIRED, École des Ponts ParisTech, will dive into the economics of home energy retrofits, discussing policies, incentives, and market mechanisms that can accelerate energy efficiency improvements at scale.
  • Pierre-Antoine Versini, Director of Research at the Hydrology Meteorology & Complexity Lab, École des Ponts ParisTech, will present nature-based solutions for resilient cities, highlighting how urban planning can leverage natural processes to reduce climate risks and enhance sustainability.

Special Keynote on Global Climatic Risk
We are honored to announce a potential keynote from Valérie Masson-Delmotte, Research Director at CEA, former co-chair of an IPCC Working Group, and member of the French High Council for the Climate. Her intervention (to be confirmed) will provide a global perspective on climatic risks, synthesizing the latest scientific findings and outlining the urgent actions needed to address them.
