About Nancy Rhodes :

Nancy Rhodes, re-fashion entrepreneur, footwear designer, and serial optimist! Nancy is a design insider who’s worked in the fashion industry for almost two decades, with exclusive insight into mass production, building footwear for big names such as Beyonce's House of Dereon and Kenneth Cole as well as multiple private labels for stores that include Nordstrom, Target and Marshalls.

Nancy’s years of adding to the wasteful overconsumption of goods led her to a Masters degree at GCNYC and her thesis on the democratization of clothing customization and the negative impact of fast fashion, offered her the green light she needed to create her company, alternew.

Nancy sought a widely under-recognized solution to sustainability in extending the life of the clothes we have. Her mission is to provide accessibility, convenience, and transparency to alterations in order to improve self esteem and inclusivity through fit and customization as well as engender sustainable practices and re-invigorate a declining alterations industry. Most recently, Nancy completed the Ellen Macarthur Linear to Circular programme, a world renowned organization known for their work in accelerating the transition to a circular economy.
